Zinnia by Little Yellow Bicycle
I am in love with Little Yellow Bicycle. I know I am not the only scrapbooker out there to actually fall in love with paper and embellishments, right? Trust me, as soon as you lay eyes on their brand new Zinnia collection, you’ll be swooning too.
This spring collection — so new that it isn’t even in stores yet – is all about glitter, lace cardstock and decorative edges — in other words, it’s basically candy for scrapbookers.
STYLE
Zinnia includes 6 12″x12″ double-sided patterned papers, 3 12″x12″ specialty papers and 1 piece each of 12″x12″ decorative-edged paper and lace-cut cardstock, along with a wide array of embellishments including alphabet stickers, journaling pieces, rub-ons, brads, ribbon, clear shapes and frames, clear stamps, flowers and chipboard.

Also, I was so excited to see that Little Yellow Bicycle is continuing something brilliant they started with their Love Letters collection: a 6″x6″ decorative edge chipboard album and coordinating decorative edge tablet. I’m so glad that someone finally thought to put all the decorate edges together in one mini book — and make paper that fits it, so we don’t have to work so hard to cut out all those shapes!
QUALITY
All the Little Yellow Bicycle products I have had the pleasure of creating with are top-notch. That’s not surprising, given the quality of Deja Views scrapbooking products from the same parent company, The C-Thru Ruler Company.
VERSATILITY
This collection is perfect for spring and all its associated events, including Mother’s Day. The colors are deep and rich: pink, purple, orange and green, and the designs are stunningly beautiful.
When I first saw this paper I thought it would be perfect to scrapbook a bunch of pictures I had taken in the spring of 2007 of the tulips and other flowers in Washington Park in Albany, NY. As soon as I put one of the Zinnia clear frames over one of my 4″x6″ pictures and laid them both against the glittery pink specialty paper, I knew it was meant to be! The best kind of scrapbooking products complement your pictures and make them stand out even more; Zinnia by Little Yellow Bicycle does just that. (Click here for a closer look at this layout.)

As happy as I was to use this collection for these pictures, Zinnia is not limited to flowers and Mother’s Day. These products could be used to scrapbook many other things — especially children, anything girly, and whatever makes you smile! As is the case with other products by Little Yellow Bicycle, your imagination is the only limit.
COMPATIBILITY
I cannot say enough about the quantity and quality of the papers and embellishments that comprise this collection. Honestly, I was overwhelmed (in a very good way) by them all! One is more beautiful than the next. These products were so fun to work with, and I especially enjoyed all the different textures — from the lace cardstock and the specialty glitter paper to the transparency and the chipboard letters.
I really can’t imagine standing in a store with all of this in front of me and not buying everything. Needless to say, having most (or even all) of it will help you create layouts and projects in a snap — and they will be so beautiful that no one will know how easy they were to make. Because of the beauty of the paper and the generous amount of embellishments in each package, this collection will go a long way.
BOTTOM LINE
In case you can’t tell, I had such a wonderful time working with these products that I encourage you to stalk Two Peas in a Bucket and/or your local scrapbook store so that you can get your hands on this stuff as soon as it is available! Zinnia inspired me, and I know it will inspire you too.
Zinnia will be available in mid-April from Two Peas in a Bucket. For more information on Zinnia and the other hot new collections from Little Yellow Bicycle, check out their website.

Love these colors! The albums are so cute. Could definitely see using these.
Love the colors. I can’t wait for it to become availabe, I will be getting this for sure!
Wow! I can’t wait to see this line in the store. I just found this site and will be checking back very often for your reviews. You really give sich detailed reviews, and I like the way you describe each product and accessory. Thanks so much. I’ll be looking forward to your next review.
I have a question about the 6×6 chipboard and the 6×6 decorative edge pad. Does that mean you can paste the 6×6 decorative edge paper onto the 6×6 chipboard and it will fit without having to trim off the edges? That would make me sooo happy!
Hi Laurel – thanks for reading. Yes – that is exactly the case! I don’t have the Zinnia one (yet), but I have the Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters 6″x6″ Decorative Edge Tablet and chipboard book – and all you have to do is take the piece of paper and stick it onto the album and YOU ARE DONE! No trimming, no sanding – no nothing. (The same is true of the pads and books in the Zinnia collection and LYB’s new Baby Safari line.) As I said in the review, I think it’s a brilliant idea.
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing … I have loved all their lines so far (and have them too). Not everyone carries their stuff but I’m so happy that some LSSs around me do so. I can’t wait for this one.
Thanks!
Great line of scrapping papers & embellies!
I am like you, I feel the need to buy everything when I see a new line I like. I am trying to get better about it, really I am.
